Apple’s WWDC 2016 keynote kicks off in a few short hours at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, and we’re expected a lot of big surprises.
Among the expectations are major refreshes to Apple’s software, including iOS 10 for the iPhone and iPad, and possibly a rebranding of OS X to macOS for its computers. The latter may also finally gain Siri support, allowing folks to pull up the virtual assistant on their computers for the first time since Siri was introduced. Apple may also update its Apple Watch and Apple TV, watchOS and tvOS, respectively.
iTunes, specifically, is expected to get a much-needed refresh, as is Apple Music, the company’s on-demand streaming music service that competes with Spotify.
On the hardware front, Apple is expected to introduce new MacBooks, including possibly a MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen panel that can morph depending on the need, and a possible refreshed MacBook Air, which has been getting long in the tooth.
