Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and the head of Pyongyang’s propaganda department, is reportedly pregnant.
During her trip to the Winter Olympics, Kim told South Korean President Moon Jae In that she’s expecting her second child, according to reports and sources reviewed by the Korea Herald.
Kim exhibited some discomfort, the Korea Herald said, and confided in Moon during the visit, which was greeted by cheery press coverage despite her role in a North Korean regime that tortures and kills its own citizens.
Kim made news by extending an invitation to Moon to meet with her brother, which would be the first time the dictator has ever met another head of state.
If true, reports of Kim’s second pregnancy would confirm speculation that she already has a child. Kim’s children would belong to the ruling dynasty and likely serve in some political office, but would not likely stand in line for succession, as her brother is also thought to have children of his own.
