LG has a 98-inch 8K TV here at CES. I took a few pictures of it mainly just to prove that I actually stood in front of the thing. It’s incredible and none of my images actually give it justice. In fact, I walked away from it feeling sad, like my TV at home is just a kid’s toy.
The TV is bright and colorful and all that good stuff, but its sharpness really impressed me. There’s one point in the circulating demo where LG highlights some coffee beans on the screen and pulls out a zoomed-in image of a bunch — revealing dozens of beans in just a tiny space of the actual display. The amount of content you can put on screen is incredible.
I don’t know what it will cost, but figure the budget required would probably come close to a few brand new cars.
