Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp could welcome £175 million worth of football talent to Anfield on transfer market deadline day.
The Times says Liverpool is preparing bids for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and AS Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar, having already snapped up Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Oxlade-Chamberlain agreed a five-year contract worth £120,000 per week on Wednesday, rejecting Arsenal’s counter-offer of £180,000 per week according to the BBC.
The £35 million transfer is expected to go through today, pending a medical examination.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is one part of a triple swoop as Liverpool is also willing to spend £70 million on van Dijk and another £70 million on Lemar.
Compared to its Premier League rivals, Liverpool has been relatively quiet in the summer market as the only notable addition thus far has been former AS Roma forward Mohamed Salah for £34 million.
The club also bought RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keïta for a club-record £48 million but the 22-year-old will not move to Liverpool until July, 2018.
