Channing Tatum, Katherine Heigl, Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, Adam Driver and Seth MacFarlane have all signed up to be in Logan Lucky: a heist film set at NASCAR’s Charlotte Motor Speedway due out in 2017. So yeah, Ocean’s 11 plus NASCAR, get it?
No word yet on who’s playing heroes or villains or speculation on what kind of animated animal MacFarlane will be voicing.
Steven Soderbergh will be directing, coming out from an apparent retirement he announced in 2013. He also directed the reboot of Ocean’s 11 you’ve probably seen where George Clooney, Brad Pitt and a big troupe of less-famous actors rob the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas.

That’s probably why Logan Lucky is being pitched as “a big-hearted, fun story that showcases NASCAR and Charlotte Motor Speedway as the world-class sports entertainment property and venue that they are, much like the Bellagio in Steven’s Ocean’s Eleven,” per the official NASCAR release.
NASCAR’s statement says the movie’s tentatively scheduled for a fall 2017 release, and USA Today’s NASCAR writer Jeff Gluck has reported filming will begin at Charlotte this weekend.
