Man Clings to the Hood of Alleged Assaulter’s Car in Mass Pike Road Rage Incident, Ends With Driver Held at Gunpoint

In a ridiculous turn of events, 65-year-old Richard Kamrowski ended up on the hood of 37-year-old Mark Fitzgerald’s white Infiniti FX Friday during rush hour on the Mass Pike. Fitzgerald allegedly drove more than three miles with Kamrowski on the hood, reaching speeds of up to 70 miles per hour, according to this report by NBC Boston 10.

The incident allegedly began with a fender bender between the two motorists. According to Kamrowski’s account of events, Fitzgerald attempted to leave the scene of the incident when he stood in front of the Infiniti SUV. This was allegedly not a deterrent for Fitzgerald, who kept driving while Kamrowski jumped on the hood to avoid getting run over.

“I thought he was going to run over me,” Kamrowski told NBC10 Boston. “I don’t think he stopped, he kept going fast, slow, fast, slow, to get me to slide off.”

The incident came to an end when motorists boxed in Fitzgerald so he was forced to come to a stop. One of these so-called good Samaritans pulled a gun on Fitzgerald until the police arrived. When police arrived on the scene, the gun-haver—who claimed to have a license to carry the weapon—was forced to the ground. This guy is not being charged with anything.

Fitzgerald didn’t say anything to reporters, but video at the scene shows him accusing Kamrowski of assault, including “he took my water bottle out of my car, he smashed my window.” You can clearly see the windshield is shattered in video of the car driving. It would seem neither involved in this incident are innocent, and both were charged.

I know fender benders are frustrating, but can’t we all just be adults about it? A man in his late thirties allegedly tried to run over a man in his mid-60s, and they’re both being petty weirdos about it. Insurance will take care of your car, it’s not worth arguing, fighting, or doing this dumb shit about.
