Marvel hasn’t been shy about its love for pop culture, releasing a gallery of hip hop-inspired covers last year. Well, the studio is back at it with a handful of new covers paying tribute to some of hip hop’s most iconic albums, including Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo.
Jay Z, Vic Mensa and Kid Cudi also make an appearance, joining Nas’ Life is Good and Dr. Dre’s Compton, which Marvel released earlier this year. The cover of Elektra, which riffs on Jay Z’s American Gangster, is a particular standout.
“Expression and art form merge between Marvel Comics and the world of hip-hop with a unique line of hip-hop variant covers inspired by some of the most iconic and well received hip-hop and rap albums of all time,” Marvel said last year.
