Nintendo’s VP of Sales and Marketing, Scott Moffitt, is leaving the company

Scott Moffit

Scott Moffitt, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Nintendo of America, is leaving his role this July. The departure came as Moffitt’s personal decision, so it’s possible he’s stepping away for a bit or has a gig lined up somewhere else.

The word comes from IGN as Nintendo sent them a statement on the matter.

Scott Moffitt, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has decided to leave Nintendo of America. In order to ensure a smooth transition, Scott will continue to work through the end of July. Nintendo has a strong group of seasoned leaders in place who will step in to assume the full responsibilities of the role on a permanent basis, with the objective of driving more collaboration and greater efficiencies across these groups and among the respective leaders. We thank Scott for his years of service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

That sounds like Nintendo is taking the position and spreading its duties over several people rather than hiring yet another VP of Sales and Marketing.

Moffitt accepted the role in the wake of Cammie Dunaway’s tenure in the position with Nintendo. Dunaway joined Nintendo after a stint with Yahoo!, and you may remember seeing her on stage during E3 while the Wii was still riding high.
