Atlus throws a sale like nobody else can. Every week, something that the company published can be picked up at a discount somewhere in digital channels. Not a bad pitch to gain fans, but the problem behind throwing this many sales is that they tend to go unreported or unmentioned in the press.
For example, did you know that Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is on sale right now for just $19.99? It’s true. Atlus’ Persona/Etrian Odyssey mash-up is selling for over half-off, and not a lot of people seem to know about it. NintendoEverything was all over the story, and now I bring it to you.
It’s no lie. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is one of the Nintendo 3DS’ finest games. As a JRPG, it’s one of the toughest and deepest that the system has to offer. As a Persona game, it offers plenty of wacky moments between the casts of both Persona 3 and Persona 4. And as an Etrian Odyssey game, it is arguably the most advanced and polished use of the formula yet.
Oh, and that battle music! Out of this world!
Again, I still contend that there might be one too many characters in this game, and that requires too much spreading of experience points. Aside from that small nitpick, though, I don’t have too many complaints about this one. I didn’t in my original review, and I still don’t.
Great discount on one of the handheld’s absolute best games.
