OnePlus 3 is now approved for the U.S.

The OnePlus 3 is a step closer to launch after being approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the U.S. market. The new handset was also certified by Chinese regulator TENAA last week, and is set to get its unveiling on June 14.

OnePlus’ next “flagship killer” is expected to be a big improvement over its predecessors, with a stunning metal unibody design, 2.5D curved glass, and high-end specifications. We’ve already seen plenty of pictures of the device ahead of its official debut.

We also have a great idea of what’s inside the handset, thanks to leaked benchmarks and those previous certification listings. We’re expecting a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor, 64GB of storage, and 4GB of RAM.

The OnePlus 3 is also expected to have a 16-megapixel camera on its back, an 8-megapixel camera on its front, a fingerprint scanner, and a 3,000mAh battery. It should launch with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed.

Certification from the FCC indicates that OnePlus will be planning to make the U.S. one of its initial launch markets. However, we still don’t know when the OnePlus 3 will be available yet, or how much it will cost — or whether you’ll need an invite to get one.
