The NFL and Microsoft have a contract in which NFL teams use Microsoft’s Surface tablets. If you watch a drop of football, you’ve probably noticed them in the hands of coaches along the sidelines of each game. One such coach is sick and tired of using them.
FoxSports recently covered a long rant in which Belichick called it quits on the Microsoft Surface. “I’m done with the tablets,” he said, according to a Tweet first published by NESN’s Zack Cox on Twitter. “They’ re just too undependable for me. I’m going to stick with pictures, which several of our other coaches do, as well, because there just isn’t enough consistency in the performance of the tablets. I can’t take it any more.”
Belichick just hates technology
The rant doesn’t just stop with the Microsoft Surface. Belichick seems to hate every piece of technology on the sidelines, from the “different frequencies” to the “number of connections” and “headsets in the helmets” and the “belt pack.” The Patriots coach concluded that everything seems to have just gotten far too complicated and says that his decision is “personal.”
