Persona 5’s script is 50% longer than Persona 4: Golden’s

Persona 5 is going to be one long game, that’s for certain. Speaking at the PlayStation Experience, Atlus had a sit-down conversation with DualShockers and commented on the length of the game.

According to the representative, the game’s English script is an additional 50 percent longer that Persona 4: Golden, the PS Vita expansion of Persona 4 that added 10 hours on top of the original game.

You catch my drift? Persona 5 is going to be one long video game, but that is not unusual for the series.

Shin Megami Tensei has never been afraid of length

Ever since its creation, the Shin Megami Tensei series has practically been defined by its length. Persona 4 clocks in at roughly 70 hours. Persona 3 is actually longer at 80 hours. Even the main entries in the series, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and Shin Megami Tensei 4, are about 50 hours a piece.

Persona 5 being so long is nothing new, but what’s different is the amount of time I can dedicate to a JRPG. Man, I wish this was also coming to the Vita, so I could play it free from constraints made by TVs, but that’s not the case this time. Oh well.

Persona 5 will release for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on April 5.
