It’s always a good day when Porsche decides to GTS-ify one of its models. Today, Porsche has announced that the Panamera is next on the list with the introduction of the Porsche Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turbo.
The GTS spec has always been a great choice for anyone looking for a sporty car at a reasonable price. You’re getting all the cool stuff that would be optional on other models in addition to race-worthy tuning, but it’s still cheaper than buying a high-end sports car.
In the 2019 Panamera GTS line, we’re looking at a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that can produce an impressive 453 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. Compare that to the previous Panamera GTS, which had a naturally-aspirated engine, which had 13 less horsepower and 73 lb-ft less of torque. Not a half bad improvement. That extra boost means both the Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, maxing out at 181 and 179 mph, respectively.
If you’re looking into this model, you’ll find it’s 10 mm (or 0.39 inches) lower than the other Panamera models—but Porsche’s standard adaptive air suspension has been recalibrated to take that shift into account. Since they’re expecting you to push these cars a little harder than your daily driver, they’re also equipped with heftier brakes than the other Panameras.

On top of that, the GTS Panameras come with a variety of different options and packages to make sure it caters to your every desire. It’ll come with a Sport Chrono package, a Sport Design package, and a sport exhaust system as standard, alongside black 20-inch Panamera Design wheels and a heated sport steering wheel.
It’s also going to be the first Panamera models with a heads-up display. Porsche’s press release mentions a lot of fancy terms, but basically you’ll be able to configure your options and select different colors to best cater to your specific driving preferences.

The Panamera GTS Sport Turismo is being marketed as a great daily driver—so, for those of you who like just a little bit extra finesse out of your commute to work, keep your peepers peeled.
You can start putting in your orders now, but models won’t start popping up at dealers until the latter half of 2019. The Panamera GTS is starting off at $128,300, and the Sport Turismo is $6200 more. Expensive, yes—but you can never really put a price on a damn good car. I’ll take a green one, thanks.
