Supergiant Games has just announced their next effort, Pyre. This is the same team that developed Bastion and then Transistor. This is a party-based RPG with the a typically wonderful art style and seemingly strong soundtrack.
The Supergiant team describes the game as such:
At the beginning of the game, your luck has almost run out when several masked wanderers find you and revive you from the brink. With your help, they seek to learn the truth about the Rites, a secretive competition through which the worthiest exiles can return home, absolved of their transgressions. As you journey across the Downside in the wanderers’ custom blackwagon, you’ll meet a variety of characters of all shapes and sizes, and learn what’s in store for each of them should they prevail in the Rites. Your actions will determine who returns to glory, and who remains in exile to the end of their days.
I’m all in.
The studio also announced that they’ll be at PAX East this year. That’s this week, for those of you who don’t know. If you’ll be there, you can find Supergiant in booth #8212.
We don’t have a release date for Pyre yet. Expect it on the PC and PlayStation 4 simultaneously. Supergiant games targets 2017 for this one. We’ll have more as it comes.
