As the US awaited the definitive outcome of the presidential election, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon asked employees in a memo on Wednesday to “have faith in our electoral and judicial systems” and patience.

“While strong opinions and tremendous passion characterized this US election, it is the responsibility of each of us to respect the democratic process, and ultimately, the outcome,” Dimon said, according to the memo reviewed by Business Insider.

As of Wednesday morning, no clear winner had emerged in the race between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Both candidates could still earn the 270 electoral college votes required to win.

One of the most unusual presidential elections in recent memory, which is taking place during the coronavirus pandemic on the heels of a renewed racial-justice crisis, has stirred strong feelings across Wall Street.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bloomberg News reported that one of JPMorgan’s star quant strategists, Marko Kolanovic, accused his colleagues of allowing political bias to influence market research, according to a transcript of a widely seen internal chat seen by Bloomberg.

A JPMorgan spokesperson declined to comment to Bloomberg, and Kolanovic didn’t immediately respond to its request for comment.

Here is the full memo Dimon sent on Wednesday:

Dear colleagues,

While strong opinions and tremendous passion characterized this US election, it is the responsibility of each of us to respect the democratic process, and ultimately, the outcome.

As we await the official results of the presidential, Congressional, and other state and local elections, we must have faith in our electoral and judicial systems and have the patience and fortitude to await the final determination.

As always, we care deeply about the well-being of our employees. Please reach out to your manager, the Employee Assistance Program or Global Security if you have any concerns.

I believe in America, its future and the role we can all play in driving healthy growth and creating an inclusive society. No matter the outcome, JPMorgan Chase will continue to work with government leaders from both parties to provide vital support to communities and advance policies that make this a better country.

Once a final outcome is determined, together we must move forward to address our nation’s challenges. While I have a deep and abiding faith in the United States of America, we do not have a divine right to success. Let us all do what we can to strengthen our exceptional union.
