Are we at the point where we can call Rocket League the most successful indie game of all time? Psyonix’s popular monster-truck soccer game has racked up and impressive 14 million users, and aside from the obvious answer of Minecraft and a plucking of free mobile games, what else has put up numbers even close to that?
Seriously, fill me in if you can. I’m drawing absolutely blanks here. Rocket League is about as big as a game of its stature can get now that Psyonix has confirmed its astounding number of players in an update on its Twitter page.

The number might include multiple accounts and spit screen guests playing alongside owners, but even still, that’s an awful lot of gamers who have joined in on the phenomenon.
