When it comes to total prize money earned through sport, it’s game, set, and match to Roger Federer.
The number two ranked tennis star is enjoying a career renaissance this season as he has added two major titles to his trophy haul — the 2017 Australia Open and the 2017 US Open.
The Swiss Maestro is currently competing in the ATP World Tour Finals in London and his three-set victory over Alexander Zverev on Tuesday saw his career prize money extend to a whopping $110,235,682 (£83.7 million), according to Forbes.
This elevates Federer’s all-time career earnings past previous Forbes number one Tiger Woods — and this doesn’t even include the money he makes from sponsorship deals.
A former 14-time major golf champion, Woods has collected a $110,061,012 (£83.5 million) fortune from sports.
Federer, who has won 95 tournaments through his ATP career that began in 1998, can bank more cash should he continue to progress in the ATP World Tour Finals.
His next match is against Marin Čilić on Thursday.
