Satoru Iwata honored in touching animated short at GDC awards

The Game Developers Choice Awards took a brief moment from its ceremony to honor the late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in its own way.

This short animated film was created by Raber Umphenour, Shawne Benson, David Hellman, and Chris Kohler. It takes a brief look at the career of Iwata and how his inventions and ideas changed the industry forever, and how he made each and every one of us a “gamer.”

Satoru Iwata passed away last year at the age of 55. The gaming community still misses his irreplaceable presence.
