As I’m spending the week in Germany, how about some tunes by a rock band from Hannover? This one, “Wind Of Change,” is about the political climate in eastern Europe near the end of the Cold War.
The awesome whistling bit at the beginning makes it impossible not to immediately recognize this cult classic. I also dig vocalist Klaus Meine’s German accent, which I’ve read his producer tried hard to get rid of. He failed, but I think that’s a good thing. The accent just works.
