This weekend, we dedicate our weekly screenshot space to the next in the Uncharted franchise. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. This is, according to Naughty Dog, Nathan Drake’s last adventure, so take it all in.
I was a latecomer to this franchise, though I suppose not all that late in hindsight. I missed the first game since I hadn’t purchased a PlayStation 3 when it launched. In fact, I was a couple years down the line on the PlayStation 3.
I picked the console up for LittleBigPlanet, of all things, and my roommate at the time handed me his copy of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. I was hooked. The game was gorgeous, and the series only got better from that point on.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will definitely be a graphical showcase for the PS4. It’s good too, then, that Naughty Dog also happens to be great at making properly fun video games. I’m excited to dig into Nate’s next with Sully in tow, and there are some new folks to engage with too.
So, right, we’ve got all the screenshots we normally have, but then we have the hands-on videos that have been popping up online over the last week. I have two in particular that I like a lot.

This game looks unreal, doesn’t it? The colors, the textures the lighting, the fact that the Jeep’s gas tank slides back and forth. I’m not normally one to go bonkers over the realistic nature of a game, but Naughty Dog is really doing something special here.
And here’s an extra little tidbit: Naughty Dog thinks it can get even more out of the PlayStation 4. Much like the gap between, say, Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us, the next game Naughty Dog designs for the PlayStation 4 could look that much better.
Ugh, now I’m all excited again. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Endis set to release on the PlayStation 4 on May 10, 2016. I’ll be there, will you?
