Tesla recently updated the Model S with a new nose design and several other changes, but it may also have a secret new model of the car hiding in a factory somewhere. Electrek recently spotted the “Tesla Model S 75D” on the website for the California Environmental Protection Agency Air Resources Board. The site mentions the Tesla Model S 75D under its list of vehicles that qualify for clean air decals.
Tesla doesn’t yet sell a Model S 75D, however, which suggests that it may squeeze the Model S 75D somewhere between the Model S 70D and Model S 85D in its family of Teslas. Electrek suggests that Tesla may release this car with a 75kWh battery, allowing the car to travel further on a single charge.
We don’t know if or when Tesla will discuss the Model S 75D, but it seems like it could come soon. Tesla may make it a rather quiet announcement, too, simply updating its website with the new model, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any changes.
