Everybody hated the flip flop ‘Halo’ when they first saw it because, well, look at it. Even Niki Lauda dissed it and he has a corner named for his brush with death. But most everybody has shut up about the looks now that they’ve seen this onboard 360 camera video of Fernando Alonso crashing over Charles Leclerc’s car without taking his top off.
F1 itself put out this video, showing that we’re a long way from the days when you’d have to go find personally-edited blog videos to even catch race recaps:
Of course, F1 would want to post this video. It shows the series’ controversial safety tech working as it should.
