No, it was never a thought in my mind that the 2019 McLaren Speedtail could be vaporware, but it is nice to see it out of a photo studio and not as a glossy press picture. Here it is, driving under its own power, out of McLaren’s headquarters in Woking.
It’s being driven by Alex Alexiev, one of McLaren’s senior designers. Obviously it doesn’t go very fast, nor do we get to hear very much, but we get a closer look at its lines and, more importantly, its scale next to some normal Humans.
I thought the car’s tail was long in the photos. Turns out, it’s super long, extending out past the rear wheels like a freaking picnic bench.
Anyway, if you can’t tell already, I’m obsessed. There will be more Speedtail coverage here, I can promise you that.
