Shantae: Half-Genie Hero confirmed for Sept. 27 release

WayForward has confirmed it will be working with publisher XSEED to distribute the next game in the popular Shantae series. It’s been a long time in coming since its successful Kickstarter campaign, but the series finally makes a proper jump into HD graphics when it launches on Sept. 27.

WayForward confirmed the official release date as well as physical editions that can be pre-ordered at GameStop.

This is the fourth game in the Shantae series, but it is acting as something of a reboot. However, this is only the second time WayForward has gone through a publisher to put the game out, publishing the second and third games on their own digitally. The first game was distributed by Capcom way back in the days of the Game Boy Color.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero launches on Sept. 27 for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
