Simplicity is the Best Way to Go Fast

Building a track car usually involves a bunch of horsepower and a bunch of tire, but sometimes its best to keep it simple, stupid! That’s what this Honda owner did with their simple hatchback track machine. It’s a clean original car in a rare color with some rare bits (like super cool Spoon gauges) that has a decent setup and a modest 110 horsepower 1.4-liter.

With such little power and retaining a half-interior, you wouldn’t expect the little Civic to be particularly quick, but then again it is in the Nurburgring parking lot. The owner says that it weighs under 1000 Kilos and will run a lap of the Nordschleife, presumably the bridge-to-gantry loop, in under 9 minutes and 30 seconds. That’s properly quick for the car’s stats. Maybe the driver is a monster.
