Last we heard, Sony was mulling over a few different titles for its standalone Spider-Man flick. As it turns out, when a big studio starts snatching up suspicious domains, one of them could be the name of an upcoming movie.
Yes, Sony on Tuesday announced the upcoming solo flick will be called Spider-Man: Homecoming. As you may have guessed, the film is a double entendre. On the one hand, it references Peter Parker’s life as a high schooler; on the other, it’s a not-so-subtle jab at Sony now that Spider-Man is finally home at Marvel.
So, Spider-Man: Homecoming it is. The movie is currently scheduled for a July 7, 2017 release.
