When Supergirl returns for season 2 on The CW, her cousin Kal-el will show up in at least two episodes. Now, we finally have a face to put with the tights: Tyler Hoechlin. DC Comics on Thursday revealed the young actor, who recently appeared in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some, will play the Man of Steel.
Hoechlin’s Superman will show up in the very beginning of next season, so you won’t have to wait too long to see if he’s right for the role. Based on his square jaw and piercing brown eyes, I’m sure he’ll fit right in with audiences. If you’ve never heard of the actor before, you will now.
Here’s what Supergirl producer Andrew Kreisberg said about Superman’s involvement in the upcoming season:
“Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slight-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season, and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape.”
Well, now we know who that red cape belongs to.
