The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport is the track-focused sports car for the common person, and Chevrolet announced on Friday just how much that person will have to pay in order to get it: $66,445, at the car’s cheapest.
That $66,445 figure will be the lowest for the coupe version of the car, and the convertible will start at $70,445. The naturally aspirated Grand Sport has 460 horsepower and comes with either a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, and those who purchase the car can now add the Z07 Performance Package to the car.
The ability for buyers to add the Z07 Performance Package is a first for the Grand Sport, and doing so would give the car carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Sport Cup 2 summer tires, and a carbon-fiber aero package.

In the Corvette lineup, the car slots in between the top-of-the-line Z06 and the baseline Stingray, but the gap in horsepower between the Grand Sport and the Z06 is fairly high—compared to the Grand Sport’s 460 horsepower, a starting price of $79,400 for the 2016 model-year Z06 will get you a full 650 horsepower.
In addition to all of the optional packages for the car, CarScoops reports that Chevrolet will also sell a limited number of Grand Sport Collector Edition cars later on in 2017. The collector car will include the blue interior accents seen above, as well as Tension Blue hash-mark graphics, black wheels and a 3D marking on the headrests that depicts the original Grand Sport racer.

The Grand Sport will go on sale in the coming months, according to CarScoops. And for a few grand less than the Z06, a track day with a new Corvette is just within reach.
