The 2019 Audi Q3 has been heavily updated inside and out, with a fresh design that’s thankfully a toned-down version of the recently revealed Audi Q8 SUV that also looks like a tough, perfectly capable crossover with a nose inspired by a staple remover.
Apart from the exterior looks, which had to be stretched over a wheelbase that’s now three inches longer, the new Q3 will be go on sale with a 187 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder with Quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission, as well as two other powertrain options yet to be revealed, according to Motor1.
There’s now a dynamic handling system with six different driving modes—at least four driving modes too many in my opinion—which include Comfort, Dynamic, Off-Road, Efficiency, Auto and a customizable Individual mode. Adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane departure warning, active lane assist, and rear cross traffic alert are available safety options.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard for the infotainment system that’s housed in a redesigned interior which looks stylish and accessible enough, with two USB ports up front and two in the back, as well as a 12-volt plug back there. It will likely go on sale stateside next year. Keep your collected and attached paperwork on high alert.
