Say, did you know there’s a new Toyota Supra? Anyone heard anything about that? Probably not, since this was a car that was almost never discussed or relentlessly teased for what feels like a decade. Well, it’s finally here, and you can get in in some pretty cool colors.
As a quick recap, the new Supra—technically the 2020 Toyota GR Supra, for Gazoo Racing—has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 335 horsepower allowing the car to sprint to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. That’s awesome. The platform and engine both come from BMW, and the car’s only available with an automatic transmission, which some folks feel is not quite as awesome.
We will have to wait to see how the final production version of the car drives, but based on reviews from the prototypes the new Supra is a serious sports car. It will initially launch in three flavors: the launch edition that starts at $55,250, the 3.0 Premium with an MSRP of $53,990 and the base 3.0 with a sticker price of $49,990. Beyond that, we don’t know much about additional options and packages but we do know what colors you can get.
Personally, I’m a sucker for dark blue or as Toyota calls it Downshift Blue, though that may make me a bit boring.

The rest of the Jalop staff was excited about the Nitro Yellow, though I imagine if you get this color you are obligated to hook up the biggest can of NOS you can in the trunk.

And of course there is the Phantom Matte Grey that won’t be available until the Fall, but it this color harks back to the super cool FT-1 concept that eventually morphed into the Supra.
The Launch Edition cars come in the standard Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black and Renaissance Red, but are accented with black wheels and red mirror caps.

Standard black looks plenty classy too.
Then of course in true Toyota fashion, there’s four shades of gray-white-silver to choose from.

The GR Supra should be arriving in dealerships soon, and you can expect those stores to crank up the price with “market adjustments” accordingly. See all the colors on Toyota’s site here.
