The Renault Espace F1 Was as Ridiculous as It Was Awesome

The Renault Espace F1 was an Espace—a minivan—with a 3.5-liter, 800 horsepower, V10 RS4 Grand Prix engine in the rear and four bucket seats. Why did this exist? Shut up, it doesn’t matter. (Fine, I’ll tell you, it was made in 1995 for the Espace’s 10th anniversary.) The Espace F1 rules.

The Espace F1 being whipped about the Circuit Paul Ricard fills me with a lot of feelings, though mainly happiness. Was this Espace the quickest minivan ever? It went zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, which is pretty damn quick, but the many iterations of the Ford Supervan would also like to have a word.

Anyway, let’s not get hung up on details like “speed.” We’re here to watch a good old vid and assess how cool this thing is, and I’m concluding that it is cool as hell. This blog is over.
