Get out your bingo cards, there’s yet another 2019 Toyota Supra concept car. This one, the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Concept, is what a privateer racing Supra could look like. In fact, it’s almost exactly what Toyota could sell you. Instead of doing that, we’re just calling this a concept for now.
This new GR Supra GT4 Concept is different from the GR Supra racing conceptwe saw at the Detroit Auto Show. The Supra GT4 was developed by Toyota Motorsport GmbHin Europe for GT4 series racing, which the company claims is one of the fastest growing racing series in key markets like North America, Europe and Asia.
If it goes into production, which, who are we kidding, it most likely will, it’s a race car, “production” isn’t too many anyway, it would be a factory-built track-only race car for amateur motorsports teams racing in the European GT4 Series, American IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, and the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia and Super Endurance Series, among others.
Because it’s a concept, Toyota gets to be pretty tight-lipped about details, but it keeps the BMW 3.0-liter inline turbo six-cylinderfrom the real car. Weight has been reduced compared to the production car, there’s racing-spec brakes and suspension, a nice big rear wing and a built-in roll cage.

While we wait to find out if this car goes into production, the new Supra will actually be racing in the SP8T class of the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring this year, and the Super GT and GT500 classes in 2020. Oh yeah, also NASCAR.
No word yet on whether any of the fake vents on the GT4 Concept have been converted to be functional.
