Fate has smiled upon the Umihara Kawase fanbase after devilishly pulling the carpet out from under their feet just a month ago. All three games will be returning to Steam on Jan. 28, alleviating the fury felt after they were removed from digital shelves following the bankruptcy of their publisher, Agatsuma Entertainment.
The franchise’s new publisher, an unknown company by the name of Degica, has guaranteed that those who purchased the games before they were pulled will not have to re-purchase them again, further solidifying this nice gesture to the niche gaming audience.
We believe it is important to support the digital ownership rights of players to the fullest reasonable extent.
Well said. Let’s all lend a hand to keep games in digital circulation and elevate those which have not had the opportunity yet, shall we?
Be sure to check out the Umihara Kawase trilogy on Steam from Jan. 28. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it’s the best platforming series you’ve never played.
