Did you ever find yourself, while playing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, wishing for more shooting? Me either. Regardless of how we might feel about that, though, Naughty Dog has announced that Uncharted 4 will get its own cooperative survival mode, and it’ll be on display at the PlayStation Experience next week.
“Uncharted 4: Survival is a wave-based mode where you and up to two additional friends can take on swarms of increasingly powerful enemies and unique objectives,” writes Naughty Dog game designer Vinit Agarwal on Sony’s PlayStation blog. Agarwal compares the mode to the co-op arena in Uncharted 2 and 3. The mode has 10 maps and 50 waves – including 5 boss battles.
Uncharted 4 with co-op? We’ll see…
While you’re plowing through enemies, the mode requires that you complete objectives like collecting treasure and coping with modifiers that restrict things like weapons and attacks.
What amounts to a horde mode doesn’t seem like the best fit for Naughty Dog’s adventuring series, but we’ll see next week whether it’ll hold our interest.
