I have to admit that I’d never given much thought about driving Ford Mustangs. Or any American muscle car in general. They’re not my typical go-to, but as I’ve just had one for a weekend, I must say that I think I need to go back and reassess some stuff. In short, I really liked it.
I had a 2018 Ford Mustang GT with the Performance Package Level 2 for a few days. It’s that option that slots above the Performance Pack Level 1 and below the wholly performance-oriented Shelby GT350. What you get with this $6,500 package is a MagneRide damping system, a spoiler, a massive front splitter, tighter steering and massive, 305-section tires at all four corners.
And the PP2 is offered exclusively on GTs with the six-speed manual, so I was happily rowing my own gears for a change. Noise comes from a naturally aspirated, 5.0-liter V8 that spits out 460 horsepower.
Other options include Recaro seats and a performance exhaust. The final sticker price comes to $50,285. Expect a full review of it soon.
Cars and coffee jokes aside (because I’ve heard them all already), what do you want to know about it?
