WhatsApp has rolled out a new iOS update that eliminates a pesky storage-hogging bug on iPhone. The version 2.12.15 release also adds the ability to send and receive PDF files, zoom in on videos, use solid colors as chat backgrounds, and more.
For those with 8GB and 16GB devices, WhatsApp’s storage bug was a big problem, causing the app to eat up more local space than it actually required. With that now fixed, heavy WhatsApp users should find that they now have more storage space to play with on their device.
In addition, you can now send and receive PDF files, whether they’re saved locally or stored in the cloud with services like iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. You can also send photos and videos that are stored in one of these services.
Other changes in this release include:
- Improved design for photo and video browser
- The ability to choose a solid color as the chat background
- Zoom in on videos while they’re playing
You can download the latest version of the WhatsApp app from the App Store now. Android users already have some of these features, including the ability to send and receive PDFs, while others should be arriving soon.
