Rory Reid is one of Top Gear’s six new presenters (or seven if The Stig counts), and he’s probably the one you’ve never heard of. Fear not, here’s all you need to know.

According to the Telegraph, Reid got the gig by sending a 30 second audition tape to the BBC, which managed to blew away Chris Evans. We would love to see that clip. But here’s a clue.

The 36-year-old is the former Editor-in-Chief of the car and gadget site Recombu who also used to host Sky1’s show Gadget Geeks and do some talking on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Not unlike his new collegue Chris Harris, Reid built up quite an audience on YouTube reviewing cars in various entertaining ways. On Rebombu Cars, he became a rapper for the Rolls-Royce Ghost, which makes perfect sense.
He also gave me a great opportunity to show you the Fiat Panda Cross, off roading of course.

It looks like he will also be just as good at doing challenges and smashing up old Vauxhalls as Clarkson, Hammond and May were, because on the highly popular Fast, Furious & Funny channel, he always had a crane at hand…
So, Evans: the chief. LeBlanc: the good guy. Harris: the hot shoe. Schmitz: the hotter shoe. Jordan: the Irishman. Reid?
