Well, the headline is true if you happen to be Jacob Kownacki, Brian Parme and Reece Everard. And “faster” specifically applies to karting. I’m pretty sure I could beat some of those dudes in a foot race.
But those three were our first, second and third place finishers, respectively, at this weekend’s umpteenth annual Jalopnik Readers vs. Writers Race at Kart2Kart in Sterling Heights, Michigan. It’s how we kick off the new year and the Detroit Auto Show, and as ever, the event was a real banger.
Around 200 Jalops came out to chill with us, eat pizza, answer my insanely difficult car trivia questions, check out David Tracy’s wild postal Jeep project, race karts and tricycles, and just have a good-ass time with like-minded people.
