Zelda: Breath of the Wild is 13.4 GB on Switch, 13 GB on Wii U

Amidst all the discussion about the Nintendo Switch and its form factor, price and launch date, Nintendo dropped some details concerning The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

A shot of the cartridge itself went by during the Treehouse stream this morning, which is what you see above, but even more info comes from Nintendo of Japan’s spec page. Look at the game’s file size listed in the screenshot below.

On the Wii U, Breath of the Wild will be a 13GB file. On the Nintendo Switch, Breath of the Wild will be a 13.4 GB download. Perhaps the nearly half-gig differences comes from better textures? Better pre-rendered cutscenes? It’s hard to say.

We’ll have more on Zelda as it comes. The game was confirmed to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3, 2017.
